FAQ'S

I want a tattoo but I'm not sure what I want

A tattoo is something that you will have for the rest of your life, so it's best to make sure that you know exactly what you want before you come in, for yours and our sakes. You may end up with something that you're not happy with in a years time and it is difficult for us to come up with a design when you're not even sure what it is that you want.

How much do tattoo's cost?

Tattoos can and do range from £30 to hundreds, even thousands of pounds (as long as they're done properly by a fully liscenced artist). Given that all our artwork is custom made and NEVER repeated, it is difficult for us to make an estimate on an idea. We will be able to give you an exact number once we have spoken to you face to face and all your artwork has been sized appropriately. We will not haggle with you over the price

How should I prepare for my tattoo?

Firstly, make sure that you've had a proper nights sleep (8/9 hours), have a good meal an hour or two before hand as your body is going to need the energy to cope with the stress of having the tattoo applied. Make sure that you bring a sugary soft drink/fruit juice/energy drink and/or some sweets as this will help to keep your energy up.

Do tattoo's hurt?

Yes. Anybody who tells you that they don't is lying to you and you don't need that in your life.

Do you do piercings?

We currently do not do piercings

My mate says that as long as you have parental consent, you can get a tattoo at 16, is that true?

Again, you are being lied to. The legal age to get a tattoo is 18. We will not tattoo anyone under the age of 18 and anyone who will is breaking the law. If we think you are, we will request proof of identification. Be patient, 18 is not that far away.

Can I have an apprenticeship?

If you want to learn to be a tattoo artist, it is essential that you serve an apprenticeship at a reputable studio. To do so you will need to have a good portfolio of artwork, the resources to commit to such an endevour and a killer work ethic. A lot of people leave their apprenticeships because they don't have the right attitude and it isn't what they expected, just bare that in mind. We cannot recommend enough that you DO NOT buy a "tattooing kit" from ebay or anywhere else. No tattoo studio will give you an apprenticeship if you practiced on your buddy using a kit you bought from ebay.

We do not currently have an open apprenticeship at the studio

Can I bring a friend with me to get my tattoo?

You can bring ONE friend with you to your appointment as we cannot stress enough how distracting it can be, particularly if your friend is a chatter. Also, we cannot allow anyone under 18 to be with you while you are getting tattoo'd.

My friend did a design for me, can you tattoo it?

We can take the design that your friend has made and design something similar. When you get a Roadhouse Tattoo, you're not just paying for the ink. You're paying for the artists expertise, creativity and talent. Everything we tattoo is designed by us. The artists.
